The Peak District Rural Deprivation Forum is a network of about 250 Peak District residents and workers who are concerned to tackle the problems of hidden deprivation in the area. It was launched in June 1992 at a conference that endorsed a manifesto, which is available on request. The Forum is run by a group of about 60 active members who operate mainly through a system of working groups. PDRDF is open to anyone who supports its work and all are encouraged to become active.

PDRDF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

Amethyst Project - working with women in the Peak District - helping to set up group activities, training sessions and community enterprises.

Developing a sustainable network of contacts for local women and supporting them to develop solutions to their problems.

National Farmers Network - to help small rural farming families in England create a positive, sustainable future for themselves, and for future generations, by setting up a strong, community-led support network. The Network will empower individuals, reinvigorate communities and enable disparate and often remote farming communities to share knowledge and come together with a collective voice. An interactive website will act as the focus for the Network.   >> MORE DETAILS
