National
Farming Network
Co-ordinator
required to set up a National Network to support vulnerable
Farmers in England
The
Peak District Rural Deprivation Forum is offering a tender
for an enthusiastic person with an understanding of the
main issues affecting farming in England today. This is
a ten-month contract for £16,800 to establish a national
network to enable the more vulnerable farmers in England
to share good practice, find solutions for common problems
and work with policy makers.
Although
the PDRDF usually only works within the Peak District, as
a result of the report 'Hard
Times' we have been funded by Oxfam for this ten-month
project to set up a network that will bring together groups
of farmers who may be working at a local level in England
but who are not in contact with other similar groups around
the country. The network would work to support these groups,
improve their viability, and enable them to work together
nationally to find common ground for a unified voice. The
network would also work with other national or local farming
groups.
